WSE is not dependent on your current version. WSE have their own mb_warband.exe, that is modded to work with it. Also you can not play a module with just the latest WSE, bit only the WSE that it was made with. If the mod says it needs a specific version, you can;t just go and use the latest. On my Warband 1.172 for example I played Silverstag, using WSE 3.2.0. That WSE comes with an 1.153 exe, that it can work with, since 3.2.0 is for Warband 1.153.
